Building a community

T1D Exchange is a non-profit organization that has created a community of people with Type 1 diabetes, clinics, experts and industry to bring together the best practices and ideas to find treatments for this disease.

We have worked with T1D Exchange as its design and development partner for several years creating web experiences to serve a variety of T1D themed functions.

Quality Improvement Collaborative

We conducted primary research, design sessions and created high fidelity prototypes to create a web platform for a community of diabetes clinicians, administrators, parent advisory committees and data governance. The outcome was a deep but easily navigated site for clinics across the United States to share data and best practices to raise the level of care for T1D patients. One significant feature is enabling each clinic to filter and sort multivariate data to see trends and compare care practices with other clinics.

Trial Registry

T1D Exchange manages a clinical trial that collects longitudinal data from patients. We worked with T1D’s development team to design the web onboarding flow and took care to adhere to the strict privacy and trial requirements which resulted in a simple, consistent experience for new and existing trial participants.

Website

We refreshed the T1D Exchange’s brand and redesigned the public-facing website. In this process, the active T1D Community of patients and caregivers was refined and relaunched on this site.

Technical Stuff

The site is built on Wordpress with custom plug-ins to present a streamlined experience, and interface with T1D’s marketing tools. We actively maintain the site to refine and grow the site functionality.
